About Polyethylene (PE) Film

(1) Low density polyethylene (LDPE): polymerized by high-pressure method, also known as high-pressure polyethylene. Its density is about 0.92g/cm2. Low density polyethylene film has good transparency and heat sealing properties, is lightweight, flexible, cold resistant, and impact resistant. Can be waterproof and moisture-proof; Thin films with low tensile strength and high tensile elongation below 0.03mm should have low tension control and constant tension throughout, especially when heated, which can cause deformation and difficulty in color matching. Therefore, when drying, the surface temperature of the film should not be too high (within 550C). According to different film-forming processes, it can be divided into several types such as blown film (IPE), drooling film (CPE), low foaming film, etc. IPE film has better tensile strength and opening properties than CPE film, and can be used as food bags, clothing bags, etc; The thickness of CPE film is uniform, and its surface glossiness, transparency, and heat sealing properties are better than PE, but the production cost is high; CPE film is mainly used as the inner layer of composite bags and the packaging of cosmetics, Pickled vegetables and cakes; Low foaming film has good decorative properties, thick texture, and is not easily stretched or deformed. It is used for New Year paintings, trademarks, and handbags.
(2) Medium density polyethylene (MDPE): Its density is about 0.93-0.94g/cm2, and its performance is between high-density and low-density polyethylene.
(3) High density polyethylene (HDPE): produced by low-pressure method, also known as low-pressure polyethylene. The density is between 0.94-0.965g/cm2. High density polyethylene film has better heat resistance and mechanical strength than low-density polyethylene film, with lower tensile elongation. The film thickness is generally above 0.03mm, but the transparency is poor. Suitable for producing various plastic products through hollow blow molding, injection molding, and extrusion methods. Mainly used as garbage bags, inner lining bags, wires, pipes, boards, and alternative materials.
(4) Ultra high density polyethylene: belongs to high-density PE, with a density of 0.936-0.964g/cm2. Its mechanical strength is much higher than that of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and it has excellent resistance to environmental stress cracking and high-temperature creep, excellent noise reduction, high wear resistance and other characteristics. Widely used in construction machinery and components.
(5) Cross linked polyethylene (CLPE): Due to its higher heat resistance, tensile strength, thermal shrinkage rate, and barrier properties compared to other polyethylene products, its use is further expanding and is currently mostly used as a heat shrink packaging film.
