Low density polyethylene film generally adopts the following two methods:
- Blow molding
- Flow casting
The thickness of the cast polyethylene film is uniform, but it is rarely used due to its high price. Blow molded polyethylene film is made by blowing blow molded PE particles through a blow molding machine, which has a lower cost and is therefore widely used. Low density polyethylene film is a semi transparent, glossy, and soft textured film with excellent chemical stability, heat sealing, water resistance, moisture resistance, freezing resistance, and can be boiled in water. Its main disadvantage is poor barrier to oxygen.
